SJ Rc.6 & 7 Blue X units.

(Passanger units)

SJ Rc6 1340
In frustration after a miserable photo shop in severe snowstorm on my way home, I made a stop to shoot these freehand night shots on overnighting IC consist with Rc6 1340 decked in Blue X paint. Of the tree post black and blue paints the Blue X paint is the most classy. 2007-01-13.

SJ Rc6 1405.
Rc6 1405 had a busy day, at the morning it left for Mora from Stockholm with a Intercity for Mora. and it was also the last Intercity train leaving Stockholm with its Blue X train, leaving 1744 on track 7, with the webmaster of this site on board arriving on time 22.45 in Mora. At 4 o'clock the following day, don't ask me why about the time, it was ready to leave 06.22 to Stockholm.
It was a suprice to see the recently outshopped Rc1405 repainted to Blue X scheme along with its younger sisters Rc6 14188 -1422 hauls these trains. I guess as the number of the second class cars have increased and condition of these cars as brand new the number of trainsets will be increased.

The second picture is taken with the engine sitting at same spot as above. But the time is midday and the date is 2006-02-08.

SJ Rc6 1405.
Rc6 1405 is one of the busy units hauling the Blue X express trains between Mora/Falun and the Stockholm. Here the engine is seen in both of its Dalecarlian terminals above ready to departure in Mora, off duty with its train set in Falun and in 13th of February again in Mora with unusual 9 car consist with additional business cars head ending the consist.

SJ Rc6 1409.
One of the more recent repaints, Rc6 1409 has arrived at Falun and prepared to a new trip to Sweden. Of the recent repaints, this dark blue version is the most classy of them. But the recent fashion color is black with chrome lettering. Falun 2007-04-07.

SJ Rc 6 1418
The same unit in Mora 31. May 2004.In summer of 2005 the local politicians asked SJ to upgrade its passanger service in to X2000.s and SJ went of a compromise as it started to use Blue X train sets. These trainsets were added with extra cars, not only from Blue X fleet. During 2005 most of the X2000.s were reshopped and the need of 180 km/h fst Rc units dwindlered and the engines were regeared in to normal 160 km/h and reclassified as Rc6.s. Mora 10th of June 2005.

SJ Rc 6 1418
It is a rather cold day and passangers have hurried in to the warm cozy cars. The engineer himself does feel the itter cold and wastes no time on the platform before entering to the south bound IC run to Stockholm. The first impression of this new BlueX scheme felt a bit odd, but really stands out in cold winter weather, especially now as there is a plenty of snow. There seem to be more and more second class cars refitted in to this looks as most train sets does have more second class cars as when these trainsets ran as replacements for X2000.s Mora 13.th February 2006.

SJ Rc6 1418.
Since the last visit the Rc6 1418 have paid a visit in the paint booth and changed from its attractive dark blue to black tuxido, so I guess Agent 007, James Bond could his leave his Aston Martin and take a train next time, then again a 4 hour train ride might not turn that exiting in a cinema..

SJ Rc6 1418.
Same engine at the same spot some months later, in march 2009 it is still very much of winter, as you might guess at this time of year I would love spring, but i guess i have to be a little more patient. How ever check out the desing of the new replacement for benches, a lean post, decked in matching black to the IC-trains which include a sort of a back rest. Comfortable? well I guess they will not replace the seats in the first class cars in to these. Mora 2009-03-10.

SJ Rc6 1419
Blue X 1419 rests with its matching set in Mora the last day in May 2003.

The trainset consists of a pair of first class cars, followed by a foodservce car and a couple of second class cars. All equipment permited for 180 km/h. More info on the Blue X cars!

SJ Rc6 1419
In few minutes the sparkling clean Rc6 14 1419 is put to work as a BlueX with regular Rc6 1389 arrives to Östersund 7 minutes late. This unit will be leading and making the train more uniform with its matching paint scheme. By this time, all the Rc7.s are reclassified back as Rc6.s and still been reserved for the BlueX trains. Östersund, 6th June 2005.

SJ Rc6 1419
Rc6 1419 is passing the site of the now raised depot of Mora-Noret as it rolls to the end of the run in Mora, less than a kilometer away. Still it needs to brdge over a river before it will slowly roll to the track one. Mora-Noret 3/4 2006.

Mora-Noret (Mora Northernly) was once a busy junction and featured a wye and still sports a fairly modern round house and turn table. Much of the track and the station building is now gone and much of the area is in the summer a meadow of weed.

Ever wonder how a Rc unit looks like with a head ache? I guess it would look pretty much like this.

SJ Rc7 1420
One of the regeared and repainted engines for BlueX trains is Rc 1420, here caught on a very early sunday morning in Mora in July 2003.

This last image is taken in 13.th September 2003.

The pair of images seen below left, are perhaps not a toppy ones but a bit different, shot during the first snowstorm of the season in 13. December 2003. The location is the very same.

SJ Rc 6 1420
At early 2009 it s appearent that even the classic and sleak paint of Blue X units will be fade to the current standard black. Here Rc6 1420 is coupled to a matching black first class A7 class car is taying overnight before returning to Stockholm with departure 06.32 the following morning.

SJ Rc6 1421.
There is only a matter of days before the snow will cover the grounsd and inflect the trainservices once again. After the the X2000 runs has been discontinued on Mora line the Blue X trainsets filled in untill Summer of 2004. But ocationally the line sees Blue X trains during the weekends on as regular IC train service, here the trainset has been added a few more second class cars. Mora 13th November 2004s

SJ Rc7 1422
This the very last Rc built 1422, repainted and regeared for the reserve sets for X2000 that seems to have problems with availability. Usually they hall a five car sets of cars in same paint scheme. But occationally hauls regular IC trains. The last two 1421-1422 were regeared for 180 km/h, while 1420 only repainted but kept the 160 km/h gearing. SJ Rc 6 1422
Rc6 1422, the last Rc ever built is here in a saturday in July in Mora with Blue X trainset. Note that the last units in these series sports single strut pantographs.

SJ Rc6 1422
Rc6 1422, is back with a Blue X consist in Mora. The last project was switching the engine to the other end of the consist and the engineer is heading to the near by hotel for few hours of sleep. Now in september, though it is still early in the month it is quite clear that the summer is gone, the nights are cold and the various shades of twilight from the summer nights have given away to darkness. Mora 3th of September 2005.

SJ Rc6 1422
The last Rc engine, Rc5 1422 ever made and still the newest passanger train engine in Sweden is having some time off with a matching consist in Falun in 20th August 2006.
