Swapmeet in Mora 2005.
Mora, Sweden
This is the enterance to the swapmeet, with different lanes for those of people
who wish to sell and for those who ant to buy. The parking is only 20 Swedish Kronors
whether you have Micra or an early 70.s Caddie. |
A-Ford looking for a new home, perhaps a nice candidate for new production body or any kind of custom phantom job. |
I don't know, perhaps I am getting old, finally... But it is kind of sentimental to see an old bus, and it is
kind of easy to forget the shakes of the big noicy diesel, and the lack of air-condition in a warm sweaty day.
The typical European Ford was the Taunus and I guess that this classic is an '62 model.
Not a winner on any speed contense. 0 - 100 km/h in a hour and half,
but offered a ride to its proud owner back in the early sixities. |
I was sneaking around they before the event and caught this '37 Plymonth? four door sedan prowling around.
In suede dress and four doors it seem to be a good presentatnion the current vougue in rodding
While driving home from te event ran in to this car, a late fifties Plymonth four door sedan converted in to
roadster or a convertible buddie hauler.
I saw this very nice HD at the event but I missed the chance to shoot it, but I caught up with it
after the event. |
After the show when shooting the bike seen above I ran in to this SAAB V4 from the mid-sixities... |
and this SAAB 92 from earlier vintage. The SAAB was originally domestic airoplane manufactor which provided
military air craft to the Swedish Air Force from the WW II and their latest Jas 39 Gripen
is the backbone of the air force today. But as people after the war could afford
a small car both Volvo and SAAB designed small car affordable to every one... |
In my opinion this BSA was one of the highlights... |
It is kind of a suprice to see a '32 Ford as the way Henry Ford delivered it to the customers.
And I guess this is the first time I have seen it in non customized version.
So I decided to take few shots from different angles for modellers.... |
The absolute show stopper was this '55 Chevy Bel Air coupe.
Note how nice the original looks goes along with modern rims. A very nice car... |
A '64 Impala convertible seen at the parking lot...
A late fifties Merc Hard Top looked like this. More conservative than the cars from
late fourties and early fifties. The swedes love those US-cars from this era. |
Back in the Europe, which was fast rebuilt fast after the WW II and soon enough
the car producers could offer people a small cars like this early Ford Taunus 12 M in estate
version. The digit 12, was not just modell name but displays also the engine size of 1.2 liter.
This car was dressed as street racer or Cal Looker!! with decals and blackened crome. |
This early sixites Pontiac soft top was for sale. A teaser for the sunny, warm summer nights... |
This might look like a basket case of junk to most of the people, but a pretty complete
starting point for a restorer. |
A front view of the BSA seen earlier, looking like doing 200 miles per hour while standing still. |
A more economical version of Ford in stead of the fancy Fairlaines...
I have a weekness for GM,s F-cars and this Firebird looked pretty brutal from this angle. |
Aah, look at this... I guess one of the most innocent looking cars are the '40 Ford.
But this Blue Candy Tudor looked just nice and anything else than innocent. A very, very nice car. |
