Classic Car Week 2004.

Rättvik, Sweden

Yes, i got this thing with vettes, and they were quite a few of them. And the fact as this year was thirty year anniversy for the glass fiber bodied sport car it needs a little extra attention. Corvette in Greenberg treat, I want it!, bad...
Side view of the Merc seen earlier. The mix of black and red looks very good on this car.

Even the pets enjoyed the fun of the cruising this evening.

The main street was packed with people and could offer more closer look at their favorites, this was not the route to take if you were in hurry, neither by car or by foot..

A MoPar was not safe from going grazy from the heat..

One of th most trick cars was this orange '34 Tudor. Seing from this angle, it looks like been armed and ready for the launch.

A seond later try to take decent shot of the Shelby, not good, but better...

There seem to be two common mainstreams in interest of US-cars in Sweden. Classics from the fifties or the sixties muscle cars. As a perfect compromise if you could not make up your mind is a Pontiac Le Mans as a rag top.

The most classic of 'vettes as I see it. The first year of Stingray in RED 63 split window. Ever since I was a kid i had this thing with these. WOW!

In ninties I thought that the trend of Cal-lookers would caught on in Sweden. I saw only three, including this and an early bug and a trick bus from the sixties. Unfortunally just a climpse and at wrong angle.

It is strange how things change. I like the Mako Shark inspired models now a days.

In the seventies and the eighties the american sportcars had lost much of its appeal, but since the forth generation, the Sting is back and carried out to the latest generation of th cars. IT has still that look of "Don't mess with me, I am an Corvette!".

I am not exactly a fan of Caddies, but some of the years were a good vintage.

Even Caddies were suffering grazy from the heat.

Second look at the 70.es Vette. Still nize!

The hot evening and crawling speeds caused that some cars got a little poblem. Mostly this was fixed by lifting the hood a bit.

One of the very few Fords from the sixties was this Galaxy, convertible of cause. Rag tops are the most saught for cars in the Scandinavians, trying to make rather rare days with warm sun.

The 210, seen earlier, seem to needed more extra attention ti please the crowds and especially the judges...

...and to keep it in extra pristine looks is a family affair.

The Opel Commedores and Rekords from the 1968 to 1971 has become cars, that caused enough interest to form clubs and associations.

The signs says, "please, no parking" but does not referate humans.

The one of the very few customs I saw was this based on 1955 Chevy.

Caddies feom the mid- and late fifties was plentyful, just like decked in tasteful green and white.

The Mako Shark inspired generation from 1969 has a styling that improves with time.

While the latest looks just right from the beginning.

The wildest ride was this Ford truck, while cruising there was no question of this pretty in pink, meant business.

Red is just right on MoPars too.

If you got inspired there was a couple totally rustfree complete projects for sale, to same pricetag as the Ford '54 seen on the first page.

If you want to party in style, perhaps this streeeecccheed limo?

Pair of very nice early original Pony cars.

It is easy to find rods of this vinatage but a original restorated cars becomes a bit of exotic. Especially when you find one like this in a cruising.

...did you notice the louvered hood?.

.... A 'Vette from the third generation is now adays affordable and still very nice car for a summer evening.

Here is interesting europpean, onde of some tht took a hard look of what was in vougue in US. This is a French made Simca Vedette. The earlier version of this car looked a lot like a Mercury 49 - 51. Now very rare and in very nice shape.

No, I di not see this vehicle in the hastingly arranged burn out contest. rather echonomical, but looking at the guys with the pedals, they seem to be soon out of gas, perhaps something a plastic cup of Coke could help.

Another look view on the Merc. seen earlier.
