Nora in August 2010.
The town of Nora is one of the best preserved towns with wooden periodic buildings in Sweden. The downtown area with these bulidings are still in used as housing, stores and craft. Originally Nora was a mining town and was granted city rights along the neighbouring Lindesberg in 1643. The town is located along the shore of Lake Nora.

Nora is the terminal for the preseved railroad Nora Bergslag Vetran Jernveg, which right of way is the first common carrier railroad in the country. Along the line at Järle is the oldest railroad station in the country.

Personally I find this town a gem, with the rather relaxed setting with its old periodic buildings, some even carrying with signs that dates to early 20th century is much of a time machine and this is I guess along the old railroad buildings and the collection of old trains and railroad buildings one of my favorite places to visit in Sweden. Usually I visit the town of 6500 citizens in early spring, but got the idea of visiting it in August.....
