"Geiranger 1" 1996.
My first painted picture!
As you might guess I have a this thing with mountainscapes of Norway. |
|
"Trollstigen" 1996.
One of the scenic highlights is the winding road over the mountain walls at Trollstigen
near Åndalsnes, pretty close to the famed Trollveggen |
|
"Gamla Stan i Rhodos" (Rhodes Old Town.) 1996.
The inspiration to this picture
comes from pictures of the famed artist Anders Zorns old town pictures
from his trips to Meditranian Sea. Also inspirational was the shades of
and the number of arcs. Unintentional, but effectful, was the placement
of the figures, tourists in the sunlight and the native artseller and
her kids in the shadow. |
|
"Röros 1." 1996.
Picture of the old miningtown of Röros
in Norway. This corner was sellected because intersting mix of
architechture and the downslope of the street towarts the old wooden
bridge. This still one of my favorite pictures. |
|
"Vattenfall (waterfall)." 1996.
The steep waterfalls are one of the scenic treats in the Fjordlands of Norway. This early attempt worked out pretty much OK except for the eroded cliffs at the bottom. |
|
"Höst i Sognefjorden." (Fall at Sognefjord.) 1996.
This was orginally painted as a early sommer picture. But the picture became to similar to the earlier
"Geiranger 1" pictured above and as this was painted in midfall of 1996 I
changed it fall, and it worked! |
|
"Röros 2." 1997.
A follow up picture of the Röros 1. Later on I discovered that this
cluster of buildings are infact in the same block. |
|
"Våris." (Springice) 1997.
This is the very first painting of my paintings of
Stockholm! |
|
"Geiranger 3" 1997.
The location is just a hundred yards away
from the location from "Geiranger1". |
|
"Längs Peer Gynts väg." (along the Peer Gynts Road.) 1997.
I thought that the haze of a warm summer night comes appearent quite well here..
|
|
"Höst i Rondarne." (Fall At Rondarne) 1997.
Another mountain
fall scene. As you already might have guessed. I get highly inspirated by diverse shades of color of the high mountains. This painting was a result of discussion of use the light
from the paper itself. instead of use of white color and I also wanted to try to catch the
more dull colors of a cloudy day. |
|
"Vinter i Fryksås." (Fryksås At Winter.) 1997.
The first of
the series of more local area. In Dalecarlia in Sweden, summer settlements were common for
farmers in the past and many of them remains today fairly intact bur converted to weekend
cottages. Fryksås is pictursquely located high on the hillside of Mount Grönklick in Orsa,
not far of my studio and offers a splendid viev to Lake Orsa and Lake Siljan. |
|
"Vargavinter". (Winter Wolves.) 1997.
With this picture I wanted to capture a feeling of a very cold night. And it intended as a
experiment to paint fur of the wolwes. Orginally only one wolf was intended for the
painting, as a lone wolf theme. But after I had already started on the picture, I had by
accident placed the wolf a bit off center so I added on couple more to
give it some company. No I don't know if they are freezing... |
|
"Vildhästar". (Wild Horses) 1997.
This picture is based on a
postcard from Wild animal association, used as a practise for painting
animals. It does differ from my other pictures, since it is propably one
the few which includes a sence of motion. I do shy away using motion
because I personally prefer pictures lacking motion because I find them
more "timeless" and keeps more interest in a long run. But I like the
result of this picture. It gives also a sence of freedom. |
|
"Altaret."(The Altar.) 1997.
By this time I wanted to do something that differed from anything I had done before.
As any filmlover regonizes this greatly based from the film "Falling down",
which I consider is great movie, which demostrates the social downfall of living in a
big city. |
|
"Fryksås 2. 1997.
The second of the Fryksås series of pictures.
This is one of my personal favorites! Compared with the "Fryksås 1" seen
above I have improved my technic on painting logs on the cabin. Which is
based on using different layers washed on, making the logs show more
effectfully years of wear and tear. Another personal favorite of mine!
|
|
"Vinterfiske." (Winterfishing.) 1997.
Something a little different. When I was a kid I was
facinated by boats ad ships. So I wanted a gentle start on the series
of ships, only 2 paintings so far. The hardest part was actually the sea. Another
favorite of mine. I plan to go to Lofoten in Norway during the fishing season to get
inspiration for more pictures of this kind. |
|
"Dreammachine." 1997.
If I ever want a bike, it should look
like this! Maybe someday... |
|
"På Väg Ut." (On The Way Out) 1998.
The second of the
"ship-series".
The picture is totally ficitional, with a typical houses and
scenery from southern Norway. |
|
"22 Acacia Avenue." 1998.
The name says it all.... It's
only rock'n´roll! You got to paint something else to spice up the
things. I paint a lot of scenery, but I don't want to get it as a
routine. You loose the itch and the results will get sloppy, and I don't
want that. Much of the contest of this based on a couple of songs with
Iron Maiden. |
|
"Be Quick, Or Be Dead." 1998.
I Wanted to do something
different...
Well, The true story is I had a visit from the Jehovas Witnesses
and after 15 minutes, he became a nuissance... I don't have a beef with
different kinds of religius groups, as long they keep their activties to
themselves, not at right at my front door. |
|
"Aces High!" 1998.
Another bikepicture, One of the guys working on with some unidentified bugs on the bike is a
friend of mine, who have done most of the
framing of my paintings. |
|
"Lone Wolf." 1998.
The name says it all.... When I did
the picture of wolwes seen earlier my attempt was a picture more like
this. So the wolf is the same but in more dramatic setting. It also is
bit about myself, I prefer do my stuff on my own, not to hang to much as
a member in various clubs and associations. I think being involved in
those you get to much politics and it kills creativeness. |
|
"Holy smoke." 1998.
The 5.th of the "bike series". I guess
the picture speaks
for itself... |
|
"Åskväder (Thunderstorm)." 1998.
This is an experiment of making a "dark image", without light to give the subdued colors of on coming thinderstorm.
In this concept it did not work out as expected... |
|
"Somewhere in time." 1998.
For this nostalgic painting I had
to built plastic models to use as "models" to place them to correct possitions. Rest is
just pure fiction. |
|
"Geiranger 4." 1998.
A close up of the high waterfall at
Geiranger Fjord in Norway....
|
|
"Rondarne 2." 1999.
The peaks of Rondarne are facinating,
with peaks reaching up over 2000 meters. And they are pretty accessable
with car, located close to the small town of Otta. Which means not so
much hiking to get to the highlands. This is maybe this far the best
landscape painting of mine. |
|
"Röros 3." 1999.
The beautyful of the mining town of Röros
is filled with old townhouses, some quite old and made of timber. This
view is probably the most photographed site of the town and the
buildings pictured here actually are quite small. |
|
"Stuga." (cottage)1999.
This is a small rebuilt cottage of a friend
of mine, which was presented to his parents. The picture is only half
of size of what I usually paint. |
|
"Rondane 3." 1999.
Another view of the mountaintops of Rondarne. |
|
"Jotumheim 5." 1999.
On the way up to the summit these magnificent peaks wellcomes you
to the highlands. At this location it seems to be common to meet various Scandinavian
X-skiing teams training! |
|
"Stockholm at winter." 1999.
It is seldom that Stockholm is in the grip of very
cold weather. |
|
"Cows." 1999.
At the summit after the famous "Trollstigen" in the middle of the night I
encountered to these cows. |
|
"Längs Peer Gunts väg 2. (Along the Peer Gunt Road 2)" 1999.
Peer Gunts road is
hugging the west shore of Lake Mjösa in Norway. Like a rollercoaster going up and down.
This small farm is a typical settlement in the area and it looks nice with the buildings from various eras. |
